PS Challenge – Discussion from one of the threads there…

Few Rules
1. Its not just Photoshop, you can use any tool to edit the photographs.
2. A new challenge will be posted approximately every few weeks.
3. One entry per member.
4. Cannot add any other photographs or new elements to the image submitted in the challenge. This excludes the use borders.
5. Keep it clean in content and respectful of the photographer or if a portrait, the person photographed.
6. Several days notice will be given before the close of the challenge (the challenge title will reflect this) and before voting begins.
7. Don’t vote for yourself. I can tell
8. Challenge thread will stay open for a few days after the voting has closed so that the winner can let everyone know how they achieved the processing (if they want to that is)
9. Keep the width of the image to a max of 800px wide, ie so it’ll fit on most people’s screens.
10. Have fun and join in !!!
You’ll all be glad to know, Patrick is now free from any external images. A little bit of clone brush here and there and he’s all natural again ;-) He says he never meant to cause all this hassle.
Anyway IMO no need to discuss the validity of this entry cause it obviously broke the rules that Mark has layed out. What I was hoping for in the discussion here was a general consensus that this is a bit of fun and we should change the rules going forward to allow more craic. I see now from what people are saying is that this was meant to be a source of learning about image manipulation (photographically only) and that some people are taking it seriously. Perhaps then we should have a seperate thread where it’s just about having a laugh and leave this as it is.
No more rule breaking from me ;-)
It was funny fig, but lets hope nobody starts on the copyright infringement :) I would say ol’ Patrick is fairly well protected!

I do think that fig has raised a valid point. Maybe two separate challenges is the way forward, where the only rule in the new challenge is to have fun.
Maybe I’m overboard today…must be the full moon or simpink. :?
I take it serious in such a way that I don’t put any old tripe up as part of a challenge but it is humerous and will continue to be. I won with this one…
Serious, eh? Delighted I was to have come out with most votes, but I haven’t been upset on not achieving those dizzy heights since. But I will still try to produce something worthwhile. Obviously Patrick above was the funniest thing that’s been seen on the challenge but it does show that there is room for massaging of the rules.

Not that I enter the PS challenge. To me, photoshopping other peoples shots is like wearing their underpants. Slightly uncomfortable and a little itchy.
I do pop my head in from time to time to spot a badgers arse or two.
Those wheels are taken from another image.. so I say Alan should be banned from the next 3 rounds as punishment. Mods…
SteveD: Tell us a bit about how you celebrated your win during the last round… you can skip the bit where you thanked God… and get to the good stuff… meal, píss up, family gathering?
AndyMc: How do you know what it’s like to wear other people’s underwear? I’d say it just the size of your plumbs that make them uncomfy?

I’m holding off on the big celebrations until I get one of Photoeye’s €1000000 notes :D .

It’s a fair cop! If I was to state that the horse came from a Ferrari badge and the side print was a tattoo does that get me a lifetime ban? :cry:
No… but the fact that you had a pop at me earlier should take it from 3 to 4 challenges… mods please…
Hi Fig, I think most will agree your first attempt at editing the photo was great and very creative but that new one is fantastic. Not looking forward to going up against you in the next challenge. :cry:
