Purchased Nikon D3100

Well fellow photographers, I finally splashed out at weekend and temporarily forgot that we are in the depths of a recession and bought myself a DSLR, Nikon D3100. Had set out to purchase a Canon but after a long discussion with the manager of the shop we did a deal on the Nikon D3100. Have to say my 1st experience of the Nikon are great. It’s my first venture into the world of DSLR’s so really only a novice starting out but aspire to be a great photographer in years to come.
Who uses the D3100 out there and how do they find it? I have the standard 18 – 55mm lens that came with it but intend after I get used to it, adding a bit of extra glass to the collection. Can anyone recommend good lenses for close up shots of insects on plants etc. and then what about distance nature shots etc.
Finally, are there any good DSLR courses in Dublin?
