Purple Fringing removal

Could anyone tell me how to remove or lessen purple fringing (or Chromatic aberration) using Photoshop. I have some shots from the zoo last Saturday with the subject set against the blue sky…and in this situation it seems I will always get the dreaded purple with the S5600.

I have a rather large book on PS..but can’t seem to find anything on this common problem (it’s there I’m sure just too many pages to flick through.. )

    Cheers

If the photos were taken in RAW, Photoshops RAW converter has a ‘lens’ tab that allows you to fix this problem. If they were taken in jpg format, in CS2, go to filter>distort>lens correction and you will find some sliders in there that will deal with it.

    Brilliant..thanks Cian.

They were taken in Jpeg. Just haven’t started to use Raw much yet. Still trying to get familiar with the basics.

    Thanks again.

the purple is different from the normal CA. You can reduce this by selecting the purple colour and desaturating it to about 30% or so.
