Taken at Portmagee, Co. Kerry. This is as it was and is the colour original. Very little PP, just a bit of levels and slight sharpening. Nite now! ZZZZZZZZZ

    Danny,

Really like this one. The glowing horizon line draws me into the image, and I love the little bit of foreground and midground interest. Well spotted, well exposed, well done!

I tried a quick edit to see how some toning would affect the mood in the photo. Also darkened the corners more and introduced a little grain to remove that ‘clean’ look which plagues so many of my own photos.

    Any questions, let me know.

Thanks for sharing a great photo.

Great shot, Valentia, love the almost pure abstractedness of it, the proportions and the mood.

Nice shot Valentia. Lovely sense of space, nice and moody. I like the content of Mick’s crop, though the Square format seems to take away from that sense of openess. Well done. 8)

Here is a real B&W version.

    Danny,

That is a much better version. Really improves the mood in the photo. Still thinks it needs a bit of grain though.

Ok first … I really liked the original… and then I thought Mick’s crop taking out any sign of land looked very interesting –

But it gets better , I really LOOOOVE that BW version..

Its not a B&W conversion.. thats the original colours, which makes the shot even better!

Superb image and as for the other edits.. I’m voting for the original

THanks everybody. My own preference is for the original too. It has a selenium tone look to it, I think.
