Raw to Jpeg

    I took some pics that I need to email or put on a memory stick.The images are in RAW.Is it easier to save as JPEGand if so how :? do I convert them.

    Depending on what you want to do with them it might be a good idea to convert them to jpeg all right.

    You need to use a raw converter to make the jpeg files. If you don’t have one try downloading Picasa, it can handle most types of raw files. You can get it at http://picasa.google.com.

    I have a gym and took some pics that i want to put on to a website.The person who is designing the site asked me to send them on but there is over 400mb there.Is converting them to JPEG the way to go os is there any easier way

    That sounds like a sensible thing to do. Try Picasa if you don’t have a Raw converter already.

    RAW files are much larger than Jpegs and I really only use them when needed in the post processing stage. Once you are happy with the images, convert them (ie save as a Jpeg), They won’t lose any detail, but the file size will be a lot smaller. Your camera may save both file types of the same shot if set up to do so.
