I like them, but I think the last one is the best by far. Nice flow leading up to it as well. Can I ask, are they displayed here in chronological order, in terms of how they were taken?
jb7ParticipantWould agree, the last one is the best, would have been great to have had it framed more carefully-
Not sure that a picture of a street performer fits in the genre,
unless something more than the performance is being shown-The other two- the first, it’s more of a tourist picture,
the second, it’s a nearly-
Street photography is voyeuristic, by definition,
you have to take them, though some end up being more successful than others-I think the last should have been shown on its own;
its strength is diluted by having it grouped in with the others-streetshooterMemberI appreciate the comments – Steve, the sequence of shooting was 2,4,3,1. They are part of my best from a recent Paris trip. The rest will be in Travel probably.

DeeboParticipantLast 2 work best for me. The heavy contrast spoils the first few
I really like the split in the stocking on 3 but feel it very tightly framed
Good work

DeeThanks Dee, and I’m inclined to agree about the first two – a little too Henri Bresson with the contrast :)
Liam2673Participantjaysus streetshooter, don’t hold back with comparisons :-)
like the others, the fourth a lovely shot.
I wonder if you got down really low would the first have worked better…..easy to say in retrospect.

Hey, a student can quote the master – right? :)
Thanks for your interest!

DougLParticipantI really like number three. I think it tells the best story. Sunshine, people-watching, laddered tights, and a lazy cigarette. What more could you want…well, maybe a little more room on the left of the frame, and a little faster shutter speed. That’s being picky though.

Thanks Doug, yep I’ve learned my lesson on the tight cropping!
DedalusParticipantA nice set of pics, but for me No 4 is the pick of the bunch, you can almost feel yourself relaxing looking at it
