Thanks for looking, I saw them between Redcross and Avoca maybe
6 or 7 of them with a couple of Buzzards thrown in for good measure.

Thanks Dave, they are beautiful especially when the sun catches
them, hopefully they will spread and will be seen all over Ireland in
the future, in the meantime if you are ever up this way let me know
and I will take you to their area.

This is brilliant Jenny! I’ve been lucky enough to spot a few around the Mournes recently, we even had them soaring over our house (in Warrenpoint) too. Great to see some pictures of them. I wasn’t that lucky :(

Ah Sinead, good to hear from you, thanks for the comments, they are beautiful birds
I could watch them all day, I was really lucky the conditions were just right for them and
I saw about 6 or 7, they seem to stay in groups which makes spotting them a little easier!

Hope all is good with you and that you get posting soon, I miss pictures of Jess :lol:

:lol: I wish!

A lot of it is down to luck, some days I can spend 4 or 5 hours out and about and see nothing, then
other days like Sunday everything went my way, Kites, Buzzards, Longtailed Tits, Goldcrests, Treecreeper,
Pheasant, and Dippers all queueing up to have their pictures taken :lol: Days like that make it all
worthwhile.

Nice one Jenny. . I drove up to Avoca last year in the hope of seeing a few but they didnt come out to play. . .Hope to get up that way this year again though as I’d love to snap a few.
