I’m unsure whether this is a keeper or not, c+c if you have a moment.

    Hi Fintan,

the simple answer to your dilemma is, I would say, keeper.

Its good to get a completely processed negative, my success rate is a lot less than 100%.
The lighting on the petals is particularly appealing, and there does appear to be fine detail in there. I do find myself wanting to see more of the flower head though, rather than the stem, though I presume you wouldn’t be interested in cropping it. Perhaps printing large would help- What size will the print be? How will it be printed?

I’ll admit I have a soft spot for Polaroid 55s and would love to get a camera that takes that format.

So I think this is a great photograph. I look forward to seeing more.

J, I might print this A2 and maybe try a lith print in the darkroom at a later stage. Thanks for your comments.

Thanks for the comments Dave, its shot on an old Linhof Technika. 55 is so expensive but its just gorgeous media.

The Polaroid 55 is a super film, and i do like the image, there is a lot of background but its one of those images that grows on you, the flower was a bit mean to you in only opening so little. I am sure it will make a good print. I think a small print will work well and i’m sure lith will work a treat, and add another dimension to the image. What paper will you use for the lith.

Probably Forte Bromofort or Fotospeed Lith but have none at the moment unfortunatly.
