Reminds me of virtually everyone who has just discovered photoshop I’m afraid. Been there, done that and learnt the lesson.

Really like the texture in this spinman. Gorgeous colours and love the leading lines to the “sun”. Would work quite well on canvas.

    With a palette knife maybe-

I know what Brandyman means about the Photoshop thing-
Who’s to say it isn’t Art,
but it does look like an exercise to me-
Still a few more filters to get through too,
looks like you haven’t used them all up yet-

Although i love to see discussion on the forum, i do feel neither comments are helpful to the photographer – Maybe you could comment and critique in a courteous manner.

It’s not my sort of thing I’m afraid although I’m sure that it could sell for thousands of pounds in a London Gallery.

I suspect that if this had been created by some elaborate artistic process and if you had gone to great lengths to explain it’s deep personal meaning then it would be a winner.

In a perfect world, art should be all about the final result. But it’s not. The process used, the artists interpretation and the quality of the rest of an artists portfolio will play a huge part in determining the perceived worth of an individual image.

    Such is art.

An interesting idea, but the lines come across as almost being purple fringed, which makes it look like an error in the image as opposed to the intended effect.

Where was I discourteous Ali? I think you are the one who has the problem.

The overcooking in PS doesn’t work for me on this image, perhaps it would be better in the abstract section ?

I would love to see the original image, I have a feeling that there is a great shot in there, which
could probably stand on its own as a landscape, without any need for the PS work.

As a general picture, I’d say it could look really well, as Ali suggested, on canvas.

It’s my artform thing which I use to transform onto canvas; not with a palette knife , but a printer.

PSP actually. Photos can sometimes be dull and need a refreshing uplift to another artform that projects itself to the eye. Not everyone’s cup of tea, but that’s life.

Thats the whole idea of my work, some of which has been put on canvas.

    Well,

If it’s been put on canvas then it must be art after all.

    Shame on you boys.

Precisely, I was simply making a comment on the PS effects, and I certainly didnt write it in a discourteous manner as alleged (as I have confirmed to you in a PM, and which I think you accept). I can see how it might work as an abstract or ‘arty’ image on canvas but it is just not my cup of tea.
