Some fantastic shots in the flickr stream Paul. We have a place full of greys that take food from your hand if you are lucky enough. Went snap happy there the first time I visited. Even though they have thinned out the reds they are great little creatures.
markst33ParticipantSuperb shot. The eyes are crystal sharp. I tend to agree with you about people looking at every photograph with the “what can I find wrong/what can be improved” attitude. However I feel that this is the risk you take when getting other serious photographers to view your work. I for one don’t mind too much as i am always looking for ways to improve, but I do agree with you about photos reflecting a “moment in time” and not to be sterilising them too much.

Paul WhParticipantredfoxMemberMy god the comments here echo how I feel, took me ages to read these posts but maybe PI could open a new section for non C&C images, I’ve never put up a image because I do not want C&C, funny as that may seem, RF.
Hairy GusParticipantEndaParticipantgreat series of shots on your flickr

RobMemberPatricia 1ParticipantphotoboreMembersnaphappyMemberI couldnt disagree more regards the critique issue. When I post an image on this site its not to recieve comments like lovely shot or nice capture or other backslapping jestures its to recieve constructive feedback on my image and to draw on the pool of experience and knowhow from the other users on how to improve my image. On several ocasions I posted images here that I taught were the finished article only to have hole after hole picked in my images in critique …and isnt it great. As was mentioned earlier If somebody wanted to display work in a passive way perhaps flickr is the way to go. But to come into what is obviously a critique section and post an image and then when you recieve critique you then decide its not your cup of tea isnt really fair. There are also forums to assist in post processing if you felt it would benefit you and I am sure there are members of the PI that would love to pick your brain regards fieldcraft.
Paul WhParticipantHi John
I think you’ve missed the point in full, a C&C section is great but a section to put up images that you only want to share is not looking for slaps on the back, not to sure why photographers would want to be slapped on the back all the time, there are plenty of images out there that while are not picture perfect contain more of a message or story than the so called brilliant bland perfect images that are all to often seen everywhere on this and tonnes of other sites, image sharing without C&C wouldn’t and doesn’t go astray, I’ve heard to many people with decent images saying “I couldn’t put up images they’re no good” when in fact there is nothing wrong with them and they are terrified that some people will jump on them (often basic photographers with basic skill), again I’d ask PI for a section for sharing images, plenty of space here.snaphappyMemberPoint taken Paul when I read your last post it puts a different slant on it for me. Look forward to viewing more of your work.
