Redwing v. Worm

nfl-fanParticipantAlan RossiterParticipant
Excellent…but it’s a redwing.
It’s shots like these that break away from the norm for bird shots and would be welcome in books on the subject.
alan
nfl-fanParticipantmiki gParticipantjb7ParticipantI’ll have a fiver on the Redwing…
Good one, any criticism I’d have would be kinda redundant, it is what it is-
How far away were you?btw, I’ve got a picture of a statue of St. Francis, for the next time you want to change your avatar…
nfl-fanParticipantThanks chaps.
How far away were you?
About 12 feet… tricky photo to get though… beneath the trees it was quite dark and these fellas never stay still long enough for you to compose and focus… or focus and compose if you’re that way inclined.
Noely FParticipantbingbongbiddleyParticipantExcellent photograph. Great timing, you did well to get the composition and focus right.
I’d be delighted with this.
MikkaParticipantWell spotted. You did well to get this. Nice to see images of them do other things than pose up in branches…../Mikka
BTW…The other Redwing images you put in the PI Virtual Book of Birds section are crackers!!
nfl-fanParticipantCheers everyone!
skittish
Aye… there are a good few along the banks of the Grand Canal between Leeson Street and Mount Street. Most of them didn’t want to know me… this fella wasn’t too bothered about me but refused to stay still for anymore than 1-2 seconds at a time.

Paul WhParticipantGem of a shot, everything about it rocks, this is the sort of shot that I’d love to see winning the nature comp with the IPF, local photography you can’t beat it.
MartinOCParticipantExcellent shot,
behavioural type photos like this are really cool.Martin
