To me it looks like the people are on the other platform. What do you think?

Any suggestions or comments are welcome

    Thanks for looking,

Looks good, I like the motive and the exposure looks good. If the outline of the train was in focus I think it would be better :D

It looks good but I’d be looking for the platform etc to be sharp and only the train to be OOF and IMO this would be a great shot.

Thanks for the comments Colin and Pat – much appreciated.

I’m with you on the platform being sharp Pat. I need steadier hands or a tripod next time – think the shutter speed was set to .5 secs.

I’ve done a few of these not so long ago Daithi and they are quite pleasing when they turn out right. This isn’t bad for a hand held shot and you’ve done quite well, however I would go back and take the shot again using a tripod and I bet you’ll be surprised at the detail you can achieve.
    Best of luck.

    Hi Richy,

Yes the people are on the platform but on the platform that you can see. I thought it looked like they were on the opposite side looking through the windows of the train when I first looked at the results….Thanks for the response anyways…

    Pat,

I will definitely take a second go with tripod – I saw your recent posts aand they are very good.

    Thanks a million RGH…

A color would be great if I knew how to do it… Saw a recent New York post in B&W with yellow cabs – very cool I must admit.

    And the B&W version..

this totally works for me. i guess if the lines were sharper ( used a tripod) it would be a bit better, but it conveys such speed and movement that it works. the composition is geat also, its quite simple, nice flowing lines frombottom right to top left, leading you into the image. the reflection is almost a foreground interest, you sure this isnt a landscape image??? :-)

    A+

I think the B+W version of this is very, very good and I don’t think I’d change a thing.

The overall blur in every area on the image suits the dark, dingy, confined spaces allocated to underground stations… (I’m assuming this is underground) so any imperfections only serve to enhance this atmospheric scene.

    Nice work.

PS. Just looked closer and it’s not underground.. but it would pass for one if you didn’t stare hard enough. Still works either way.
