Taken back in January. Cropped a bit, but otherwise left alone, pretty much.

The reflection is great .. My only comment would be that the sky is blown and the shadowed areas along the treet line seem to have lost too much detail… If you use PS maybe a quick levels adjustment might help.

I really like the reflections ,get the sense that the light is coming in over the hills.

Yeah, it needs a bit of tweaking. Sadly, my photoshop skillz are far below par, so I don’t really know how to go about tweaking the levels in that shot (this was taken in my pre-raw days :))

If you don’t mind i could try to do something with it – I’m not the moist skilled with PS either – but I could take a look – do you have a bigger image maybe

Try using the Image -> Shadow/Highlight option in photoshop, you’ll be able to reduce the shadows
around the tree and reduce the sky highlights. See where that takes you.

Do it on the RAW file if you have it.

With all the images I post (and actually, it’s a requirement from Flickr’s terms of service) if you click on them they are also a link to the Flickr photo page, which has a link to the full size version. By all means, feel free to tinker! And as I said, sadly this was taken in my pre-raw days, on my old Nikon 5400 :)

ok just a quick edit so – supposed to be working

I did a small recrop- added some screen light – and adjusted levels to the hills a bit – some sharpening and a squirt of blue filter for the sky … i added a little vignetting and a frame

Played with some settings, any better ? Pity it was a jpeg. Could have brought more detail out of the shadows
but it’ll have more noise. Also you can’t really recover the washed out highlights

I have a larger version if you want it also. Mightn’t be bad in b+w also.

Both are good recovery photographs. Good considering how contrasty the original was.
