I am in no way an expert in photography. It is basically a hobby of mine. However, over the years, I have gathered thousands of photos, mainly of nature, holidays, family, etc., which I had spent ages sorting into folders on my PC. As I wanted them in one place, I put them all onto the PC and deleted them from everywhere else – SD cards, external drive, etc – where I find it easier to sort them out. Unfortunately, as soon as I was finished sorting them out, a few weeks ago, my home was robbed, which included my PC and most of my photography equipment. I lost all of my organised photos.
Anyway, I finally got the urge to try to recover some of the deleted photos from the equipment that wasn’t stolen – my external drive, my SD cards, iPhone, etc. – using the Recuva tool. (If anyone knows a better tool, preferably free, please suggest, as I have lost my favourite photos and many of which I’ve recovered are corrupted in some way).
Anyway, the main issue I’d like advice on here, is if anyone can tell me a possible, preferably easy way (as I am not too tech minded), of retrieving the orignal date of when photos were taken. I have noticed that many of the photos have the wrong date or/and even the wrong name. They seem to have got ‘mixed up’ somewhere along the line. Any ideas? I have tried to look online of a way of doing this, but it seems confusing.
