Hi Ciaran,
both are aesthetically pleasing to me, although I find the first one too hot.
Were my studio bigger and I in that situation, I’d pull back and reset the light level.
The crown looks like a mix of the crown of thorns and a touch of St Brigids Cross.
An interesting concept! I think the pose is better in the first and the light better in the second.
Terrible of me, I know.
Thanks for taking time to post these.
I like the lighting a lot, and the colour, and the exposure…
I suppose I can’t really find any technical faults at all with these (I’m sure you
know better than me that there aren’t any), though I personally find the first just
a little tight and think it needs more width…
What I don’t get from these though is any sense of emotion, reverence least of
all. Beautiful model, beautifully photographed, but there’s a sterility both in pose
and expression that just isn’t cutting it for me…
I really liked both shots of Kayt, but all I’m seeing here is a superb technical
proficiency and ability but no real subject matter or meaning. Does that make sense?
They look a bit “Static” and incongruent to me. Something isn’t gelling and I can’t put my finger on it. If she was completely nude, the shot would have no more or less meaning (maybe that’s just to me). Almost like they are technical exercise rather than photos, if that makes sense.
