Got this photo published in Ride BMX Mag at the minute. It’s being used for an advert for a bike companies UK & Ireland team.
It was awkward to light properly with the strong sunlight and the subject being in the shade.

Great setup Pete… rotating the original shot 90 degrees clockwise has really helped give that “gravity-defying” impression too!

    :D :D :D

Just love it, really. Clean, sharp… perhaps almost too sharp (giving rise to the notion that it’s a ‘staged’ shot, which it obviously isn’t)…!

    Take it easy,
    D.

Um Dave, I don’t think that is rotated. Unless there was grass growing on the walls!

This *is* quite a nice shot, the only complaint I have is his shadow on the wall is a bit distracting.

Thanks. I actually shot a good few of these, some on a Sigma 28-135 lens but they were nowehere near as sharp. The lens just doesnt cut it for DSLR’s. I ended up having to get closer and use the always reliable Nikon 50mm 1.8 lens. The difference was so unbeleiveable that I stopped using my 28-135.
