Rindoon

We had a field trip in the photography club Wednesday night and went to an abandoned medievlal town ground called Rindoon in Roscommon.
Great night for the Moon and stars. Very difficult to do in complete darkness.

And that night was ‘perfect’!I’m guessing that’s Moonrise.
Know Rindoon well and must bring the camera down there.
What settings did you use?
Did you help carry the Telescope out?

Thanks Peter. That was the first moonrise I ever saw and what a night to see it on.
Conditions were brilliant. I don’t have much experience with stars so this was trial and error.
I think most shots were around 3200iso, f4,25secs. A few others carried the telescope and to be honest I forgot all about it. Would love to have seen a few close ups of the moon.First shot is my favourite.
Especially love the meteoroid/satellite trail on the right.

Moonrises and Moonsets can be spectacular in a very different way to our Sun’s equivalents.

Really lovely set, I appreciate the difficulty in taking pics of the moon!!
The out of focus rocks in No. 2 are a tiny bit distracting in my opinion of course but really like them we’ll done.

Thanks Guys. The second shot bothers me because I couldn’t find anything to focus on and so ended up with focusing to infinity but ruined the rocks. Its definitely worth another visit here
