Beautiful landscapes, Kerry must now be known as the Sunny South West judging by the beautiful blue skies you manage to capture, ;)
Beautiful, but the foreground curve is unsettling. Past my bedtime though.
Hi Madeline-
One of the good things about panoramic joiners is that they can retain good detail when printed at a reasonable scale-
Some of their other attributes need to be addressed-The first, in a single line horizontal pano,
is the forced central horizon-
Although I’m not averse to breaking the central horizon rule,
there still has to be a reason to do so-
and in this case, I think a second tier of pictures to show the foreground might have been effective-This is connected to their next trait, the cylindrical perspective-
Not usually a problem in landscapes due to the lack of orthogonal,
it can sometimes be implied in the horizontals-
in this case the far end of the field in front of you-Again, the second tier of pictures might have allayed some of the tension
of the curved junction to the water to the bottom of the frame- I think-Perhaps another way to say it is that perhaps the picture is a bit long-
it’s sometimes difficult, given 360ยบ, to know which part of it to crop,
and what its relationship to the height of the picture might be-I think I have a difficulty with the composition on this one-
lovely light, and (I’m sure) impressive detail,
but in the age of television and film, I’ve become a little saturated with the scenic view-
and in order for it to succeed, in my opinion,
the composition must be impeccable-
and I think this one might benefit from being a bit more thirdy-
as well as benefiting from all that lovely texture being extended into the foreground-It’s been too long since I was in Kerry, where all the seasons come in one day-
this looks like a nice spot-I’m just wondering, just like Ansel’s Hernandez moonrise, might the moon have been better positioned more centrally?
although I can see that looking up the estuary is a nice part of the view too-
and there is the dilemma of the panoramic-Impressive view though-

I wonder do we sometimes get completely carried away with the technical aspects of the photographs? And just forget to actually enjoy them..
I am a fan of your work Madeleine, you know that… And i do like these shots..
The second one for me, I wonder what would be the final effect if you would enlarge the moon, not fully natural look but :) .
Not sure about the first one though!What can I say….if your name is on it….it’s gonna be beautiful……..fantastic images…..you get it perfect everytime.

Pixelle & jb7: Your comments and suggestions are very welcome….Are you talking about the perspective of the front line. I think it suits the image very well, makes it very dramatic. i welcome the strange perspective in some cases….but thank you for your input and suggestions.

Gregor: the moon was small, most of moon landscape images…the moon is dominating or made bigger.i prefer it in this way because it just includes the info that the night is close and the colours get another “meaning” and the landscape gets an “abstract” propotion. and the moon “shuts up” ( ;
