For me it’s criminal to post one of your own photos in someone else’s thread… but in this case I’ll make a very special exception.
This is you Aidan… I’m pretty sure… taking the above photo… well maybe 0.5 second later:
Considering how high this guy took off, and how close he is to landing, it seems risky to be still in a manoeuvre like this; this close to landing :shock:

Thanks! Nice shot too. Jaysus that 350D and kit lens look like a toy in my hands compared to the 100-400!
#162 is pretty awesome at the stunts. There were 3 or 4 of them having a go in that race, possibly because they’d a gap between them.
It’ll probably be the last time I use the 350D there. I wanted to try use it for some of the up-close panning stuff but it’s AF and smaller AF point count meant it wasn’t behaving as well as the 40D. Lots of soft panning shots from yesterday. Ah well. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I got a few new angles to try out for next time.
Will see if I can go to Clonroche on June 15th. Things at work are about to go nutso busy so the camera might be staying in the bag for a while.
Clonroche.. Land of the Bikers and Wexford premier shopping superstore Jackie Greene’s.. for sure.. only 8 miles up the road from me. Would be good to give it a go on a different track too.
I thought the action yesterday was very good… the best of my three trips up there. There was a bit of show boating too… but that’s what you want.

Clonroche…isn’t that just a flat field?? Or am I thinking of the wrong place? I went last year and just brought home enough mud to landscape the garden.
I don’t think you’re going to get any shots like that above here Aidan. I was surprised to see this at a championship round, gap or no gap.
I’d agree with John too, yesterday was the best day I’ve had in Ferns…d’ya hear that all those that said they were going, but didn’t! More action, more people and the good weather helped.Alan.
I don’t see Clonroche listed as an event on Motocross.ie… is this the same affiliation that runs the Ferns events? I don’t see any more action listed for Ferns for the near future either… so if Clonroche is all that’s on offer… then it’s all we can take
