they are all beautiful Rob…. the B&W is very rich, with a nice contrast… they are really great portriats…. my preferred is the one with Steve: he looks like the main character of a 70s movie!

nice set there of the gang rob,

I would disagree with alessia, I think the last 4 lack contrast IMO.

I do like 4 and 6 though, the visible grain really adds to the image.

mmm for me as well, lack of contrast, especially in the last four.
I’d love to see them with more ‘kick’…
you have a really nice collection of portraits. good I am missing :D :D

    Looks like somebody didn’t sugar Dave’s tea…

    What a gallery…
    Good approach there Rob,
If only you had more to work with…

Like the one of Sinead with all the LoFi gear…

Come on, get the colour up…

Hell yeah, I wouldn’t mind a bronica to add to my LoFi collection… tee hee!

These are cool Rob, the boys all look a bit mean, think that makes them a bit like movie stills.
    Good work.

jb, my tea is always without sugar ;)

and by the way, are we sure this is lo-fi? they look very good to me…. lots of detail in Robbie’s pic…..
    what lens were you using?

Looks like Dave sipped yours by mistake then…

    ah!
    now I get it.
you’re talking about the _real_ Dave.
    ok, better shut up now.

Fine set of portraits there Rob.
It’s funny because in almost every one
you have caught an expression that we
    haven’t ever seen before?

    Dave the Darkroom looks pensive,
almost like he would at one of his students
who hadn’t handed in an assignment.

Expresbro looks like he wishes he was at a
burlesque party (can’t blame him there  ).

The Magyar looks quite rugged there…well so says
my wife who frequently asks me about that ‘nice Hungarian boy’.

Two of the girlie types (Alessia & JTS) have
been caught off guard somewhat and seem slightly
unselfconfident…most unusual that. Of course Blue Sharon
is cool as a cucumber, nothing ever fazes that girl.

and Steve “I’ll belt you with me” Crozier looks
dangerous in a sort of a way, even though he is
one of the softest guys you could meet.

Very good set and as I say most unusual.

Thanks all for the kind words…

It was another fun day, though I have to say I was very disappointed with
most of the scans I got back from Gunn’s; not their fault of course, they just
developed and scanned the shite I gave them…

The images posted were the best I managed on the day, and if you think
they lack contrast now you should have seen them before I bumped it up
a bit in photoshop before posting…

So, seven black and white images from three rolls of 120 film, not too bad
a return in some ways. And now seven colour ones, just to even things up,
    from two rolls shot…

nice pics, my faves are the #3 bw and the one of the quay’s bar for the colour set :)

    Thanks Angelo…

My own personal favourites are probably the second of the first set
(the one with Sinead peering out from behind the cameras), and the
    last of the second set…

I’m already looking forward to the next lofi day, whenever that might
be, strictly from the point of view that I’ll be doing my own developing
next time around. So much more to look forward to then…

Rob, what speed film were you using for the bw’s? I think the light was quite flat when we were having coffee,
I shot a roll of XP2 (ISO 400) around that time, they were all flat looking.

There was a lot more light when we all over by the Vikings, I think that’s where you shot the pictures of Steve & Zoltan?

The exposure in the colour looks a lot better, I like the second, with the light bouncing on the cobbles,
    like the last too..
