Super shot. Talk about the shot to get … a Robin in snow! Only thing I can think of is maybe just a little less foreground? I’d be tempted to halve the amount of water in the shot.

Stunning shot John, super sharp. As Aidan said, what a shot
to get. Regarding the crop, you could lose the water altogether
and go for a square crop and the shot would lose nothing.
    Brilliant.

that’s absolutely gorgeous John. :) You would think it’s water right infront of him. I was wondering why there was no reflection :).
Excellent. What lens did you use?

Thanks Ali, i used the Canon 100-400 L IS at 135mm. Biggest problem was getting far enough away to focus

    Wow John
best Robin pic ive seen. Like Erin I wish I took it. If i did take it id never bother take another Robin shot. Its perfect.

Id agree with Aidan id crop from just below the snow.

Well I’m no expert on bird shots, but looks pretty damn perfect to me John. It’s the sort of shot you’d expect to see adorning the cover of a plush nature photography book.
