Had a go at this last Monday. It was a beautiful balmy evening, long may they continue…….

    Lovely light Paul!

There is almost a rainbow like touch to the sky in the backround!

I would crop off the bottom section to make a panorama style shape
as I feel the water to the vbottom is’nt adding to the image.

Agree on the crop, small crop to just below the rocks on the left.
Nice evening and very nice image.

Id suggest a crop to the left to get rid of the modern bungalows or whatever they are, and
as above crop the bottom just below the rocks

That’s very nice Flynny, you certainly captured the beautiful light. I think the composition of the image is fine but there’s certainly a lot of crops suggested for you to try. Maybe removing the weather station on the left might improve things.

    Thanks for the replies lads,
I’m sure all of the suggested crops work well,
My own thoughts on the image were to try to convey a sense of scale.
I’m not sure that cropping the image would help with this.
I’ve tried this shot several times but never with conditions so good,
Lovely late evening sunshine and flat calm water.
Again thanks for the comments all.

    Great image Paul

I’d have been happy to have taken this, the lighting and the sky are excellent, i know you had a lot of suggestions for crops, all valid depending on the end result you want though.
If I were you I might have been tempted to move camera a fraction to the right to leave a bit more empty space to the right and at same time eliminating the building on far left.
