Roll Up, Roll Up! Disposable Camera Day, December 5th

In the vein of a recent post by the Cork Analogue Photography Users Group (http://corkap.wordpress.com/2010/11/15/disposable-camera-day/” onclick=”window.open(this.href);return false;), what would people say to a disposable camera day out ?
The premise is simple – everyone meets up with a disposable camera in tow, spends an hour or two shooting, before having the films developed in a one hour lab, and perhaps adjourning somewhere and sharing and looking over the pics in a relaxed fashion. A photo shoot and a print showing in one!
Date is Sunday, the 5th of December – chime in if you’re game! :)
(I’ve tentatively pencilled this in for 12- 4, but this is open to suggestion, along with film labs for 1 hour processing, shooting/ meetup routes, and a place to meet up afterwards to chat and view prints.)
shutterbugParticipantGreat idea Damien, would love to meet up again, will know nearer the time
if I am free (Sunday can be iffy sometimes)ossie13Participantdamien.murphyParticipantThat’s cool Jenny, sure when you do know, let us know. I’m definitely in for the Dublin version.
Steve – perhaps you can shoot in spirit, with a disposable camera in London, Steve! :)
Anywho, can’t claim credit for the idea, just riding on the coat tails of the Cork Analogue Photography group, as linked above. Seems like a great idea, and I for one will be hanging onto the disposable camera afterwards to re-load with black and white for another day :)
BMParticipantdamien.murphyParticipantHi Brian,
Working backwards, the city centre is probably best given the proximity to (hopefully) a one hour lab to get the film developed.
Myself, I’m in for the Dublin version, but in the vein of the whole thing, think it would be really cool to have pockets of shooters all over Ireland on the day itself, and a great excuse to meet up with other PI members in your area, even if you only number two or three.
Ultimately, depending on the turnout, it would be great to generate some sort of end product from the day. I am thinking of some sort of online Blurb-style photobook, or perhaps given the time of year, an assortment of PI Christmas cards utilising some of images shot..
damien.murphyParticipantI’m pretty much off my feet at the moment, and regrettably, not around on Sunday for this. I’m quite miffed, as I very much liked the idea of the combined shoot and print-showing.
Interested to see if things come together on Sunday, as if not, we’ll definitely have to give this a go next time around in ’11! :)
