Nice one, love the lead in to the shot using the turf piles…very “Postcard”

    Cheers Noely,

To be honest the piles of the turf were the only points of interest in the whole area. There are no trees or otherwise, just blanket bog as far as the eye can see.

If that is the case, then well done for finding what you did in terms of composition. Did you try any much closer to a pile of turf, and lower to the ground, to make the turf pile appear much larger in the frame? That might have added more impact.

    Cheers,

I took around 20 shots some were closer up. I have included one below. However, my shoot was cut short when I stumbled backwards trying to get a lower shot etc.. Landed into the bog;I was soaked and so had to abandon things.

    Nice first shot, griangraf.
    Now, that’s proper fuel.

    Beautiful shot!

I love the way the shape of the turf piles is repeated in the distant mountains.

The cloud formations also seem to mirror their structure
and following them the eye seems to be drawn into a similar overlapping direction.

But what do I know

    Go raibh mile all,

I was passing throught the area last week and thought there might be something to photograph. I tried to get some shots around Rossport Pier as well but the light was way too harsh during the middle of the day. See below. From what I have gathered the pipeline referred to earlier will pass somewhere between the boat and the grassy knoll.

    Slan go foill,

I like the way the soft grass blends into the background. Great shot.
