The purpose of this post is really to just say that I had no idea that such a great landscape photography opportunity place was so near to me. Being in Limerick most of the time, life has brought me to Newry, NI, temporarily and yesterday I had the time to go look around the place. I had seen a few photos from near Warrenpoint on the forum before but didn’t realise how nice the place looks altogether! I’m a sucker for views that an everyday (city) person doesn’t get to see or in my case, don’t even know is there! I don’t have Any of my gear with me so just the good old Sony I have and the standard lens on it, 18-70mm.
Not particularly looking for any criticism on this cause I know it’s not great myself. Just to show a bit of the scenery that was there and sadly this is one of the few clearer pictures I got. I really liked the look of the road on the hillside. It wasn’t that dull of a day but when there was no Sun and the wind was strong enough, it all added up pretty cold to be said! The Sun was coming and going, that’s a patch of it there, nicely :)Just to try make this any bit better, would there be point cropping out the bottom a bit (get rid of the footpath) or would it leave it..too sudden?
I just recommend to go explore the place if you are near enough and have time! I also think that the locals have criss-crossed it by now, hehe ;)
wirepicParticipantI’d probably cut about an inch off the bottom to keep the focus on the road and the sunny patch. If I was there I would have probably stood more to the left closer to the edge of the path and pointed the camera slightly more to the right to give the road in the distance a bit more room. But, who knows, by then the sunny patch would probably be gone.
bigalguitarpickerParticipantNip up to Newry, take the Dublin road, turn left just before the railway bridge, on to Flagstaff Road. see great views of Carlingford Lough from Flagstaff viewpoint. Be careful, it’s a very narrow twisty road!
sndipoMemberI think I know the road you’re on about alright! As long as it isn’t very bumpy..the car isn’t very high :D Thanks, will check it out when I have time again! :)
