    for landscape photos ?

Well, it’s all lovely. Sea, mountains, forests…

Was there something in particular you were wanting to shoot?

    Martin,

The place is full of places to photograph to be honest. You’re right up against the Mournes and the sea

I’m going up with a friend of mine who knows the area reasonably well. We will have a couple of hours around
Rostrevor/Warrenpoint and then we are heading on towards Newcastle.
General landscape is what I’m interested in. We won’t be up in time for sunrise.

Bloody Bridge off the main road near Newcastle is probably worth a visit.
Your friend will probably know the place.

From Rostrevor to Newcastle, you have a few choices on how to get there, along the coast,
or through the mountains, both lovely.
I’d go through the mountains and come home the coast road.

There is some work going on around the docks in Warrenpoint, might be worth a look, or not.

In Rostrevor, Kilbroney Park is very nice, along the Fairy Glen is looking quite nice at the moment.
Have a look on the map for Yellow Water and Leitrim Lodge, that’s one of my favorite landscape locations,
you might even be lucky enough to see a Reindeer.

From there, it’s a nice drive past Spelga Dam to Newcastle, or, through Bryansford and past Tollymore Forest Park is nice too.

Park at Donard Park, and take a walk along the Glen River (at the bottom of Slieve Donard) it’s pretty stunning,
lots of waterfalls, if that’s you thing, beautiful crystal clear water too.

And as Mark says, Bloody Bridge, on the road to Annalong, when leaving Newcastle is well worth a stop.
High tide there on Sat, around 7pm, ish.

Coffee and food… Deli Lites or Bric Cafe in Warrenpoint, The Kilbroney in Rostrevor is ok for Guinness,
food is not bad, but not much cop for coffee.
Seasalt, Zest and the Donard Cafe (beside the carpark at Slieve Donard) in Newcastle, all good.

    Have Fun,

    Sinead

Taken near Bryansford in the Mourne Mountains….a beautiful part of the country.
    Hope to add more soon.
