Don’t know how many people here have heard of Stockbyte, the Kerry based stock library founded by Jerry Kennelly 10 years ago and recently sold to Getty Images for $135m.
Anyway, Jerry Kennelly won the Ernst & Young Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year Award last year and was set a challenge by John O’Shea of GOAL to set up a viable photographic related business in Africa. I’d heard about this some weeks ago during the morning business news on RTE Radio 1 and it sounded like an amazing success story. Well, tonight we get a chance to see more of that story on RTE One at 10:45. SHould make for interesting viewing!
The photographic images are great, full of colour and life. There was one that was shown being discussed in the programme that’s not there but that I’d like to see again. It was taken from the air of startled flamingos running across the water with trails of splash/footsteps behind them.

Thanks for the link, jlang. Yeah, I know the image you’re talking about. First they showed Alan Betson shooting from the air and shortly after that was this fab image of the flamingos – very different from what you would expect to see.
