This is the little gizmo that Tim Rudman was using yesterday. Invaluble little thing altogether.

Looks great. If only I had that 15 years back. Never knew you could get a version for Colour……but I never really did much colour printing anyway. Never really came to terms with the colour head which, on reflection, was not all that difficult really with a bit of practise and “playing about with”.

They are a great bunch. And APUGers too, they helped me with a wiring problem before. Which reminds me i must look for a part they recommended.
    Enjoy your new toy.

RH Designs make some first class darkroom equipment. I got the Paper Flasher and the Process Master Timer about 5 or 6 years ago and they have been great and not overly priced either. I also have the torch for colour printing so I may just order the B&W also. They will be wondering why so many torches are being ordered this week. :D

would you be up for a demo of paper flashing in your darkroom? or in temple bar. I’ve never seen that flasher used and might like one :)

Hey Fintan your putting me on the spot with that request for a demonstration with the paper flasher. I’m currently making a special unit/box to house the flasher with adjustable heights for flashing. I wil dig out my notes and some test prints I did in the past and when I have the unit made I could give you a run down on its operation. Its very handy as you don’t need to disturb your enlarger by re-adjusting it to flash the paper. I have also used it to fog certain areas of a print.

I could brint the flasher with me the next time we do a workshop. RH Designs have a very good explanation of paper flashing on their web site.

The Process Master seems to be discontinued. Its a timer which can time any number of processing stages, i.e., developement, stop, fix, wash, tone, etc. It also has a metal thermometer attached which monitors the developers temperature and this enables the unit to automatically adjust the developement time to allow for changes in temperature. It can also calculate new developing times as the developer weakens over time. You simply hit the foot switch when putting your paper in the developer and then you follow the audible beeps and move the paper from one try to the next. It’s the best piece of equipment I have in my darkroom, no need to be watching the clock for any stage of the process.

Sounds very useful. I’ll hassle you for the demo when I see you.
