Taken last weekend just past the Sally Gap
Nice and early, before the morning mist had time to evaporate…C&C welcome
wirepicParticipantNice shot Eddie. I might have cropped it just below the sun and then brightened the foreground a bit. It is quite dark. Good use of the road to lead right through the shot.
emcnParticipantThanks for that, Fergus.
I had a sneaking suspicion that the sun was a bit over-powering….although i liked the idea of the road leading into the sun.
I was also thinking of converting to B&W, given that there is already very little natural colour in it to start with.
I guess it’s back to the digital darkroom
Gary McParlandParticipantnice mood in this, i agree about the crop. like the lead through with the road.

markclehaneParticipantAnybody think that this might look even better in portrait format? Maybe its just me as I take an awful lot of my landscapes that way for some reason. Nice shot though.
thebigbejaysusMemberI quite like the sun being included and in fact would prefer more of it. I think it provides a nice contrast and these types of days and weather mix can give some dynamic photographic possibilities. I also like the PoV and composition.

Arun GaurParticipantI like the sun as it is and the solemn undulating dark road.

I think this would benefit from a portrait format too. The way the road leads your eye would set that format off nicely.
That being said I do like this in landscape and it would look great in B&W. I too also like the sun in the picture, but possibly with the sun not quite as bright. :)
