Samsung NX system

    This might be interesting.

This new Samsung looks like a step forward to better and faster compact cameras. All those entry level SLR’s with the kit lenses will be dumped soon I guess.

I think it is just another way of securing market share!

Just another CONSUMER item slotted nicely between the digital
compacts and DSLR’s. The image sensor is only 18×13.5mm
that is about 30% less than say a 40D [APS-C].

I think if someone is really entheuastic about photography
they should just skip this and go straight for DSLR.

You would have to buy into the lenses and accessories
which would be useless when trading up. kind of like EF-S.

Just another consumer product I think.

I would love a consumer grade camera with full manual control… something like the Epson R-1D, but with a much nicer price tag… that’s why I always get excited when I see a compact camera with knobs and dials..

    Hi Zoltan,

Yea I kind of see the attraction, as do the manufacturers!
but if you wanted to print up to like A4 I think the limits
of the sensor size could be seen!

it is probably aimed at people who dont want to get into
the BIG cameras but still want more functions than
    the compacts.

    nice for travelling.
