Two lovely shots too! I love the blueness in the first and a lovely composition
as well, the second is very different but equally as nice, just the contrail in the
left side catches the eye a bit.

nice shots. The first is very blue but the house lights look right so that must have been the actual colour. Nice misty water.
You used two exposures in the second shot I suppose – its well done.

    There both nice shots,
The PP in the first on is letting it down a little,
It looks like you’ve used a gradient mask to blend the sky and the forground, but it’s a little obvious where the mask ends,
Give it another go and I’d suggest bringing the mask down a little more.

I’m not the best at PP, and still are not 100% happy with either one.
    Thanks for the comments:
Paul – you were correct on the gradient mask
Bobby – it’s actually one raw file with two different settings then combined, rather crudely i might add.
Shutterbug – I like the contrail, but see your point.

A revised lighthouse, less blue more correct colors. the white balance is still wrong

I like the blueness of the first as it gives it a cold feel. In contrast, there’s a nice feeling of warmth in the second.

    Hi Peter,

I’ve already passed comment on the second one on the club site so I won’t repeat myself here. The first I like. I’m all for mood or feeling being added to an image through colour, or PP enhancements and the blueness contrasting to the warmth of the lights and house suit really well. The gradient though needs to be reworked to make it more subtle…assuming it’s done post capture.

    Alan.
