Part of a series of lens tests from Saturday-
the others can be seen here-viewtopic.php?f=83&t=19257&start=20
shutterbugParticipantAll that is missing is a herd of Wildebeast :) Just goes to show
how dry it has been here, I can see water rationing ahead!PeteTheBlokeMemberI saw some of these in the other thread and assumed it was Spain somewhere.
It’s a bit scary to hear it’s Wicklow.As a landscape it breaks too many rules: no sign of digital manipulation;
no woolly water; no ultra-wide lens; no clouds; vinaigrette; dubious foreground
interest; pseudo-horizon at halfway height. Have ye learnt nuttin’?Still quite an attractive shot for all your errors.
jb7ParticipantThanks Jenny, Pete-
Yes, a lot of straw- was quite surprised to see it myself-
and yes, of course I’ve heard of wildebeest…Thanks for the litany Pete-
usually, with that many errors, you’re guaranteed loads of responses around here-
There’s probably even a tilted pseudo horizon in there…MartinOCParticipantI’ve been away too long, looks like the weather is much better now back home.
Very nice shot, maybe a tad more sky would have tidied it a bit, I think. The lens blur comes across as heat haze which add nicely to the atmosphere.
Martin
jb7ParticipantThanks Martin-
Hope I’m not giving a false impression there…Don’t want to be picky, but that’s not a sky,
that’s over the hills, and far away-Not obvious at all in that one, I know, but there’s this (slightly less saturated) one-
5faytheParticipantHi Joseph,
I find this is an interesting photograph.
I don’t think I would have guessed it’s location had you
not suggested it in the title.
Reminded me, for some reason, of pictures I might have
looked at many years ago in my grandfathers National
Geographic.I know Martin suggested more “sky” but I kinda liked it too
with no “sky”.I like it.
It has an unusual, for me anyway, quality to it.Cheers.
John.
aoluainParticipantNice images Joseph!
they do look lo-fi though, dark and blurry edges.
the rendering seems quite good in the middle
for a ‘long tele’ all the same.Nice one Joseph.
