nice shot, and detail, and lighting-
Toning is maybe a little strong,
or would be in a print,
but prints and the web are two completely different media,
I suppose.I’d have a slight issue with the aspect ratio,
being nearly square, but not,
but it is a painterly ratio,
and does suit the subject.one other thing is the junction ofthe petals at the bottom of the frame,
it does tend to lead straight out of the picture, with no route back-Many others would disagree, of course-

Nice shot but I’m not a fan of the toning,
it seems a little un-natural for a natural subjuect if that makes sense.
I agree with J on the crop at the bottom of the shot. Perhaps coming back out
a little would help eliminate the fall ofI like this Mike, notwithstanding the contentious crossing
of petals at the bottom of the frame. Beautiful texture to those
petals – almost vellum. The toning? I don’t mind it too much,
though I might be tempted to desaturate slightly to give a more
delicate look to the petals.Rob.
I like it, maybe fade the outside to black leaving the centre in sharp focus?
