Scam

Hi all,
I received an e-mail this morning from a gentleman from the UK (allegedly) called Paul Simpson. Basically, he claimed to have seen my work on the internet and wanted to book my services for a wedding in Northumberland. I gave him a fleeting reply to his query and was surprised to see that he responded to my mails wanting to book me and give me a substantial deposit for his wedding photography.
After looking into the matter a bit deeper (contacted the hotel in Northumberland) it seems that this is a scam and the Hotel has had a substantial number of calls today enquiring about the same wedding which doesn’t exist.
Anyway, tread carefully if you have received similar e-mails.
Regards,
John
crampParticipantI have seen this before, you might receive a cheque for far more that your deposit and he will ask you to send back the balance and of course the check will bounce, I had a similiar instance for an item I was selling on a yacht club website, I receive the cheque which turned out to be stolen when I checked it out. Luckily I never sent the item or sent back the balance

So do I. In fact I’ve recently received a similar e-mail, I’m still waiting to hear more from them so I can dig a bit and see if it is some legit work or not.
GCPParticipantThese mails are arriving on a weekly basis for the past year or so. Just bin them.
