I hear what ypu’re saying about the revision Pete, and I’d tend to agree-
absolutely unnecessary in this case-
This is a probable candidate for a large print;
it looks like its contains a large amount of small detail and pattern,
and its good to make the most of that-
you’re more likely to pass something by if you can’t see it.
The one element that I find distracting is the signifier for the tower itself-
the top of the arch at the bottom of the picture-
Cropping above it would give you one of my favoured 2×1 compositions-
and might make it a little more of an enigma,
by making such a recognizable object just a little bit more of a mystery.
It also gives you the opportunity of printing it 200x400mm on an A4 printer.
This is heavily cropped (from a 3000×2000 JPG, unfortunately). I think I will footer about with it and try a print. Good chance to test out that QuadTone RIP you recommended elsewhere.
