Deffinition of photography from Dictionary.com
“the process or art of producing images of objects on sensitized surfaces by the chemical action of light or of other forms of radiant energy, as x-rays, gamma rays, or cosmic rays.”
So technically around 70% of the people here dont produce photographs if we are getting into the photo vs image thing here.
Can you imagine what Ansel Adams himself would say if he saw a digital camera.I think its too broad a subject to define when a photograph becomes digital art…. perhaps its at the point it is digitised????
For me photoshop is my digital darkroom, and i do not consider myself a digital artist. I am a photographer however you want to argue it.
ThorstenMemberThe Mirriam-Webster dictionary defined photography as “the art or process of producing images by the action of radiant energy and especially light on a sensitive surface (as film or a CCD chip)“
If we go back to the Latin origins of the term, then it simply means writing with light; no mention of the medium used there.

Yup, he’d be singing and dancing for joy at the possibilities open to him and the fact that he no longer needs to spend hours in the darkroom! This is fast becoming another film -v- digital debate. For the record, I shoot both and enjoy both. I don’t think one is better than the other, just different!
mcmartinParticipantThorsten i think decision about banning the photo… first… it was completely different from the original shot… im sure about it. second you probably pissed judge enough… he must have figured technique, and your refusal to tell him, probably only made him sure…

It does strike me as a bit of a one liner (linear)-
