LudaParticipant
I’m experimenting with duotoning and long exposures at the minute:
I just need to get out there much, more and keep finetuning.
jb7ParticipantHello Luda-
they both look good to me-
Though I really like the top one,
especially if I could have a little off the bottom-The usual rotations will be mentioned,
although more and more,
I’m considering doing it myself to see if I can get away with it-Good ones- lovely tones-
j
RobMemberReally like the first Luda, something special about it. It could afford
to lose a little from the bottom as Joseph mentioned, but even as it stands
it’s a fine photograph. Wonderful toning…Rob.
PeteTheBlokeMemberBoth look nice to me. The toning is really rich, and as good as any
I’ve seen tried here. You may have a blob on your sensor near the top right.
MarkKeymasterThese are great. Good intro to the site :).
JB is right re cropping a little off the bottom of the first one.Feel free to share your toning method for these :)
LudaParticipantYeah, I thought about a bit of cropping but I always like to have as much foreground as possible in my shots (I alway seem to have the 10-20mm wide open at 10mm).
As far as toning goes, it’s just made a duotone in PhotoShop under the “Mode” dropdown. I leave the first colour black, and pick light brown/beige for the second, then adjust the curves for each colour until I’m happy. I want to pursue this kind of photography for a while. Maybe get out this weekend.MarkKeymasterThanks Luda !.
I’m also happy to have someone else posting mono landscapes on the site :)
Mick451ParticipantFirst one has lovely textures and tones, but I prefer the second.
The tiny teeny bit of space above the rocks on the left of the first one is distracting – I wish it either wasn’t there or there was more space.
The second one has a lovely balance to it and is really strong graphically.Lovely work.

Good point.
I seem to rush some of my work because I’m so eager to get a result. Things like the cropping will be taken into consideration a little more.
