Not Pete the blokeParticipant
Not as sharp as I would have liked, but I liked the way the colours all matched. Maybe I should flip it?
Not Pete the blokeParticipantJust talked myself into it…. I think it’s better now, as you read from left to right. I’ll save the other one for the Japanese market
Alan RossiterParticipantI think you did well in this one Ross not to lose detail in the shadows. Sharp enough for me to.
As regards the flip – I would! I find it easier on the eye to be lead from left to right. Maybe it’s something to do with the natural reading direction, I don’t know, but I find it easier. My personal preference would also be to warm this up a bit but I know from feedback of my own images that this isn’t always to everybodys taste. Nice shot.
Alan
[EDIT] You flipped it while I was writing this. Actually I found the bright floor was the lead in and not the benches and only noticed it after you flipped it! The original works better for me…who would have thought it?? :)
joe_elwayParticipantI like the colours in this. Think the 2nd one works better for me and for no reason that I can think of!
DenverDollParticipantVery appealing!
You are right about the colors, an attractive blend!
The second gets my vote…think it is a left brain thing or something like that
Shar
Alan RossiterParticipantOK, I admit defeat again – 3 against 1 is good enough…but I am left handed :?
beefParticipantSecond one for me also, my eye seems happier running from left to right and down the cloister as opposed to the opposite direction… I like the blackened doorway at the end, adds mystique! Smashing shot. Mid if I ask where it was taken?
Cheers,

Being from Wexford, shouldn’t that have been slapped out of you in primary school?

  Do I look that old??
Nope – being left handed in a school which was hurling mad had its advantages especially when they wanted someone comfortable up the left side of the pitch.
I’d be more concerned about your nocternal antics Aidan – a post at 4.20am???
Meanwhile – back to the thread…I still prefer #1.
Alan
PeteTheBlokeMemberI like this Ross. I think the second one takes it. Did you straighten it a witsy bit too?
S-ManMemberThe second gives the image a better feel , its a better view on the composition
:D :D
Nice perspective shot :D :DRavenAshMemberSecond shot works better for me.
Maybe that’s because I’m righthanded :wink:ossie13ParticipantGerryMParticipantI have to agree. The whole left to right thing does look more astetically cleaner but I still prefer the lead in fro the right. It just doesn’t fell 100% correct for reasons that aren’t immediately apparent – I like this cause it makes you stop and consider the image longer. It’s nice to break with conformity….
