Self-Portrait

I’m trying to shoot more and more people, so far i’ve only got candid shots of family. But came up with a sort of style i want to pursue for portraiture. I’m trying to develop my style. I don’t know if it looks good or not, hopefully you guys will tell me. Its a portrait of me, it was the easiest way to test it out. I have a few personal portrait projects in mind, so would love to know if it looks like crap or not, so i could know if i should continue like this or move on.
Technical comments would be good or just the “yeah it looks good, nope looks like crap”, thanks!

Like: the exposure and sharpness. Contrast between subject, dark shirt, dark hair etc against a light colour background.

Dislike: too much blank space over top of head, would crop it out. “line” caused by different shades of colour in the background – I find it distracting.

Final comment “Yea it looks good”

I agree. I really like the processing.

I think it looks good, a little cliche maybe, but good.
See, I like the space, maybe there isn’t enough,
a bit on the left of the frame might work.
The line in the background, doesn’t bother me,
but maybe if you had taken a step to your left,
it might have looked a little cleaner.

    Really nice processing too.

Not the easiest thing to do, self portraits, well done for giving it a go…

Yeah, as a starting point this is really good.

I quite like the crop, intentionally cutting out both limbs. Maybe tighten the crop so that both are in opposite corners

I really like this self portrait, lighting & colours are excellent.

I do find the camera strap a little distracting.
