Nice idea. Though I think the image tone is wrong for this. Its neither colour nor monochrome. I’d for for the monochrome and maybe use a curves layer to add a bit more contrast as its quite flat. Then mask the colour back into the eyes. the golden eyes would stand out more against the B&W.
