Sending camera to UK for repair, Customs Declaration

Hello,
Hoping someone can help, I need to send an old rangfinder fro repair to a specialist in the UK, and he mentioned on the phone that Ill need a customs decalation as he recently had an issue receiving a camera from Ireland.
Has anyone any experience with this, can’t find anything online,
Im sending it to Malcolm Taylor, some of you might have sent something to him before,
Any help would be greatly appreciated
If close to border why not post from the north? They should not have a problem returning it to your home address?
