    A shot with great potential!
I would have liked the person to be standing more central
in the image to have her shadow cast along the decking &
not to have it merging with the shadows of the rails.
I would prefer to have seen it taken from a lower perspective!
I would also convert it to B&W to be more dramatic,
but these are just my thoughts. Well done.

I think John is right about converting to B&W – there’s not much colour in the photo in any case so it’s more about the contrast between light & shadow. A lower perspective might have helped alright but I think that’s a fairly minor criticism. For me the shot still has plenty of appeal – it’s atmospheric & the lighting is dramatic. Well done!

P.S.: Curious to see how it would look with a chunk taken off the top?

Beautiful light, and would agree about cropping some of the sky away, it gives the
scene a lot more impact somehow, very nice shot.

    Very good pic.
Like the perspective. If you go lower
you highlight the bridge foreground detail and
there is nothing special there and you would weaken
the vanishing lines at the end of the bridge plus the
bridge fence will start to block the island.

Would definetely crop a bit of the sky and try a mono
or toned version although what you have is a bit mono
looking. Still a very good pic though.

Thanks very much for the comments, they are all much appreciated. I’ve got to agree with shutterlight though that a lower perspective wouldn’t add much to the pic, if anything I’d have liked to get higher up to add more some more drama to the image. This shot was taken on the fly though, and the lady’s silhoutte is as it is because she turned around at just that moment to see where all the clicking noisees she was hearing were coming out of. I do agree with you all that monochrome might be a little more interesting as well though, and I could do with losing some sky. Here it is again in black and white with a bit more cropping, I hope y’all like it.

I think it improves it :)

    A very much improved image!
I would still prefer it from a lower perspective though.
I’m not talking about a foot from the deck, but I assume that
the image was taken at head height & it was more of a candid
photograph than a posed one. Well done anyway for seeing & taking
the opportunity but don’t be shy in asking people to pose for you.
People will or can be obliging if you ask them.

Thought the girl was posing for you because of her position
and the head turn – the fact that she wasn’t makes the photo even better.
