Shieldbug (I think!)

Found this little chap on the curtains. The background/setting is a bit dodgy. Any thoughts?

That’s a fierce looking animal…!! Of course he’s probably only about 1cm long..thankfully :wink:
Like the man said…excellent detail and DOF. I don’t think the background detracts at all, is pretty bland, which is good as it doesn’t take any attention away from the main subject.

8)Great little shot. The blurred foreground detail, IMO, is a worse problem than the background. With shots like this I don’t really care what the background looks like as long as I get to see the bug (and the background isn’t too distracting). But the foreground *really* distracts me in this shot.
