Shooting Neopan 1600

My camera isn’t registering film speed and I haven’t shot with 1600 (Neopan) before. I’m getting a light meter in a few days but I’m pretty impatient. Under normal indoor light (60 – 80 watt bulb) shooting at f1.8 on a 50mm lense would I be safe enough between 250 & 500 shutter speed? I know that’s a fairly general question but I’ll be developing the prints myself so I have a bit of leeway with the exposure, just don’t want to completely wreck the film by using a shutter speed that’s way off. Feedback appreciated. Thanks.

I have some Delta 3200 in a camera here and at f2 (just 1/3 stop off) its reading at 1/250th so perhaps try
1/125th with the Neopan.

Better to overexpose than underexpose of course.
Might be wise to wait for some other opinions here in case I’m wrong. Don’t want you wasting that film :D

Out of interest whats the camera ? Oh and welcome to PI :)

Thanks Mark. It’s an Olympus OM10. Just getting back into the swing of photography now that I’ve finally put a dark room together after talking about doing it for over a year. I will post photos of the space on your other thread in a few days. Thanks for the welcome!

i find neopans true iso rating to be 800iso from when i used to shoot with it “a lot” in college, so id say 1/90th with the neopan, and slightly extend your devolping time, also my dev of choice with neopan is ID11.
