Got out yesterday mid morning. Not ideal and the forecast wasnt spectacular.

Headed up the road to Donabate (saw a Red Kite over the road at the entrance to Newbridge House :) ).

Took this one at 15mm, f22, 0,6 sec. I used a couple of Hitech filters – a 1.2 ND and an ND Grad. Removed the colour cast in PS (I find the colour cast only really becomes an issue when the filters are stacked).

I am happy with it, would prefer if it came with sound…….. but use your imagination!

    Any c&c or suggestions?

    Hi Des,

    Yes sound would be great.
It’s one of the joys of photography to be out in such beautiful surroundings.

I think it’s a lovely photograph and well composed.
The chosen shutter speed has created a nice little pattern in the foreground.

I wondered if some low evening light, it that were possible, raking across the
scene would bring out the texture and colour in those rocks and make for an
    even better image.
    Me an me thoughts. :)

Well done and thanks for the description and list of settings which imo make for
    a more interesting thread.

    Cheers,

    John.

Lovely image. Great job especially considering the less than desirable light, and even regardless of the light. Would love to see it at sunrise. Nice work

as said, it is a lovely image. the only thing that bothers me a little is those dark rocks. maybe an evening visit would be better light for this scene. still a nice image though !

    Thanks for your kind comments.

Absolutely agree, dawn or dusk light would make it. Sometimes though, its worth just going for it when the chance comes along…… wont always work out, but then you need to throw a stone to make a ripple. Personally, I haven’t been throwing enough stones lately.

    Thanks again.
