Shot from an Ilford Sporti

Great photo Mark! I like the contrast and the movement in the water is just magic… So did you process the film yourself?
Sinead.
MarkKeymasterThanks Sinead.
Its the first roll of 120 from that camera. Got it developed by peak imaging in the UK.
Scanned myself then after on a V700 I borrowed from a friend.I’m sorry I didn’t develop myself though. As last night I scanned in a roll of 120 which I ran through a Pentacon 6TL
2yrs ago and developed myself at the time to find that I need an ok job on the deving.
Unfortunately, my chemicals are now out of date so I’ll have to get some more :)Good fun this lark :D
MarkKeymasterFilm used above was out of date Tri-X 400.
Just noticed that its not a ‘Super’ Sporti but just a plain ol’ Sporti, which make it sound better I think lol
randomwayMemberIt looks like the focus plane was tilted.. the right side of the image looks sharper than the left side…
Is that a rangefinder camera of some sort?
MarkKeymasterIts a very simple camera. Have a look here, its the first one, the Sporti
http://www.camerapedia.org/wiki/Ilford_Sporti
Has a strange area of focus/sharpness for sure.
randomwayMemberThis is an early snapper’s camera :) I like those controls on it… focus: close-ups, groups, views… looks like a lot of fun.
I would like to see some people photos taken with it. Cameras like this can break up barriers as your subjects don’t think that much about being photographed.
MarkKeymasterYa, now that I know it works somewhat :), I’ll get out and take more shots with it.
Just popped another out of date roll into it, so will see how I get on.Definitely not something which would attract too much attention.
MarkKeymasterSomething else which I shot while testing it out. Nothing special…
I must pay closer attention to the settings I’m using with it, in order to get the ‘best’ out of it.
Doesn’t appear sharp at the front of that boat where the writing is.Forget to clean up the dirt/dust and burn in the top left a bit.
EddieParticipantNice work Mark, it looks a real good machine and is working really well. Nice to see the film work being put up again and more phptpgraphers getting into it.
MarkKeymasterThanks Eddie!.
I’m looking forward to shooting more through this little camera. I’ve caught the bug :)
davedunneParticipantGreat photos Mark. Nice atmosphere to them.
(I’m now tempted to look for Ilfords on eBay!!)
aoluainParticipantMark,
I love the “authentic” and “Nostalgic” feel to the images they could have been taken 50 years ago.
