What Manual Settings Should I Put My Fujifilm Finepix S2000HD? For Showjumping, I Have No Idea How to Sharpen Them Up, Or Keep Up With the Pace.. a Quick Reply Would Be Appriciated. :)
Nobody can answer that question for you. There are no Settings that just work! For example, the first photo below had an ISO of 200, Apeture of f2.8, shutter speed of 1/1000 sec and a focal length of 157mm. The second one had an ISO of 200, Apeture of f4.5, shutter speed of 1/640 sec and a focal length of 144mm. So in effect the settings were completely different with essentially the same result.
Basically what you want to do to freeze action you need to get your shutter speed as high as possible. Ideally over 1/500 sec. To do this properly then it will depend on the limitations of your camera, lens and the available light. To be honest you will find it extremely difficult to do with the camera set up you have, not impossible but difficult!!
If you don’t know what any of the above means then you need to get yourself the book Understanding Exposure by Brian Peterson and learn what the settings mean.
