From my recent trip to Germany (via Wales, England & Denmark).
It was pissing rain all day… just like it is now.

    C&C welcome

    [Canon EOS 400D, Sigma 17-70, 1/100s, f/8, 44 mm, ISO 400, handheld]

The afore mentioned clarity of shot will remain the same – crystal clear – do you use a low ISO with tripod or are these shots handheld??

I’ve got to ask – what’s with the balloons? I think it adds a huge intrigue factor to the photo and brings the level of interest up…so what is it??

    Alan.

Thanks Alan, I am quite pleased with the way these came out as it was, as mentioned, a shi**y day :D

I don’t really know why my photos should be more clear or sharp than other people’s.
These two, for example where taken at 200 & 400 ISO (as written underneath the photo) handheld.
The b&w even at 1/80s and 70mm, which is the long end of that lens.

I have resampled the processed shots from their original size using IrfanView, sharpened a little and added a 1 pixel border.
I guess my processing just suits most on-screen displays.

Now printing, that’s a different story altogether.
I just got some prints back from Bonusprint.ie and I wasn’t at all happpy with whhat they send me.
On one print I had some green dye smeared across it, which was clearly their fault.
But some of the other ones seem to be blurry in places and the colours slightly off. I think that can be my fault.
I think I just don’t know enough about colour profiles, dpi, and the whole printing sheebang.

…and don’t even get me started on my convulted and messy ‘workflow’!

I have changed the crop of this slightly.
I feel it works much better now.
