Steve,
I use this lens and like it for landscapes and such, Here are a few shots I’ve taken with the 17-35.f:6.3, 35mm Hand held 60mph
F:20 , 24mm Tripod
I hope this helps. I bought mine new from Cameta camera for $237 it came w/hood, Hard case, cleaning cloth, tabletop tripod, set of 4 close up lenses and a nine yr. warranty. Great deal. Best lens purchase I have made.

MartinParticipantI have one of these at home. Don’t use it much anymore as I used it when I was shooting 35mm film. Not wide enough for me on the cropped sensor digital cameras.
There are two version of this lens. I think I had the first version I presume the second is better so if buying make sure you get the newer one. Image quality etc is good. Build quality is ok it’s the normal build quality of Sigma. After 4 years I started noticing dust behind the front element but it’s not that much of a problem. If I was buying a lens in that zoom range again I would buy the Nikon 18-35 which is a slightly sharper lens and around the same money. The best in that zoom range is the pro Nikon 17-35 but costs double the price though, optics are about the same as the 18-35 just the build quality is much better and its 2.8 throughout

BrickeeParticipantI have the newer version .
This is a raw image of the side of my truck. No post processing, only 100% crop and saved for web.
f:2.8 17mm ISO 200 1/3200.
I’ve looked at your equipment list and wonder why you would want this lens?
Jim

Something to note is that i don’t think the sigma is 2.8 throughout the zoom range, think its F4 at 35mm
