Sigma 50 – 200 mm DC OS Vs nikon 55 – 200 mm VR

I am generally new to photography in terms of using an SLR camera so i am far from a professional photographer.
I decided to bring up two very similar lenses in my opinion from what i have read there dosen’t seem to be much of a difference but i also could be mistaken . The only difference i have really noticed between the both of them is the build quality the Sigma seems to be better build compared to the Nikon , has anyone tried these two lenses side by side and noticed a massive difference & which is your favourite lens to use ??Sigma 50 – 200 mm F4-5.6 DC OS = optical Stabilizer
